Hot Weather Safety Reminder
Heat Safety Message for Residents
With the recent hot weather, we’re encouraging all residents to take a few simple steps to stay safe and well:
Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid peak heat – try to stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm where possible. Keep cool indoors – close curtains or blinds during the day and open windows when it’s cooler in the evening. Wear appropriate clothing – light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat can help protect you from the sun. Look out for others – check in on elderly neighbours, vulnerable individuals, and young children. Never leave people or pets in vehicles, even for a short time. If you feel unwell due to the heat (e.g. dizziness, headaches, or nausea), seek shade, hydrate, and seek medical advice if needed.
Let’s all take care of ourselves and each other during this period of high temperatures.
Stay safe.
